What a day this was. Somehow, someway, mom and dad didn’t let themselves find out if this would be a girl or a boy. It was amazing to watch this baby born and then the whole room burst out yelling ‘it’s a girl!’. That moment was worth the 9 months of waiting.
I still find the miracle of birth fascinating. That we can go from this to that… (image below)
I simply adore this age. All the coo’s and smiles, drool and rolls…it’s a bit of heaven on Earth. The sitting up stage is one of the best times to photograph babies. I had the honor of photographing her on the day of her birth. You can check out the blog post about that day HERE. I can hardly believe how fast time has flown by!
Remember this cutie’s BIRTH story? How about her NEWBORN session? She just keeps getting cuter by the month! Apparently she is also a bit of a cuddlebug, which is the exact opposite of her big sister. 
This gorgeous bundle entered the world on August 23rd, 2011. Big sister was VERY excited that day.
I wish I had heard of birth photography when my children were born. Newborns change so fast that even a week later they can look different. For us mom’s birth photography gives us a chance to see everything we couldn’t on that day. Unlike the dad’s, we don’t get to follow the baby back to the nursery and see the measuring, bathing, etc.. If your expecting a baby this fall/winter now is the time to start thinking about having your baby’s birth photographed professionally and your newborn images. Time really does fly by!

I wish I had known YOU when my son was born in January. I was completely out of it because of painkillers when he was born and my husband was bawling his eyes out with tears of joy so all the pictures he took are out of focus! So, next time I’ll be smart about it like this family!

She took her time, but entered the world on August 11th, 2011. A beautiful 7 lb. 10 oz. bundle named Frances Kate was added to this gorgeous family.
Congratulations Jordan and Dan! Thank you for letting me be a part of your daughter’s birth day.
