I’ve never been very good at writing.  At least, nothing interesting.  I guess that’s why I’m a photographer.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I guess I’ll be posting just over 3000 words tonight.

You can’t look at this image and not know that this little man has found his home.  God sure does know what he’s doing even when we can’t see it.  His big brother got to journey to Ethiopia to bring him home.  Wow.  I can’t even begin to imagine how that trip will forever change him.

Mom says he’s very protective of his little brother.  Can you tell?  :)

And finally what’s a photo shoot without some traditional clothing?  How cute are those little toes?!

Momma called me when baby ‘A’ was 7 weeks old.  The down side of that is they don’t like to curl up well, but the plus side is the belly button!  Isn’t this the cutest belly button you’ve ever seen?!  Baby ‘A’ put up with a lot.  With a little patience we were able to pull off some sleepy shots as well. :)

This next session was for Celebrating Adoption.  These new parents have the coolest adoption story!  Sometimes it’s just impossible to deny God’s power.  :)

And one more on this post.  (Can you tell the rain has given me some time?)  ;)   You might remember this little man’s BIRTH.  Here he is 7 days fresh.  Check out his lips!

It’s no surprise that juggling being a stay at home mother and a business owner is beyond a 24/7 job, but lately it’s wearing.  I noticed the other day, to my shock, that I’ve scheduled myself in for every single weekend til June.  Don’t get me wrong I’m so excited to meet everyone of these clients and am honored to photograph them, but I’m going to take this opportunity to change things for the future.  I need my weekends for my family.  So starting in June I will only be opening up 1/2 the weekends each month. The other half I won’t be scheduling any sessions.  That being said if you are going to need a weekend spot, even as far out as fall you might want to schedule early.  :)   Right now I can only schedule a Saturday appointment in June for the 5th and 26th.

I wanted to share a few more images from a previous session. :)

Today I realized how old I’m getting.  Chasing around 4 children up and down a steep incline would have been a piece of cake 10 years ago!  :)

It was worth it though, don’t you think?  :)

I saw this next one coming and had my camera ready!  Priceless!

Celebrating Adoption is an organization of professional photographers dedicated to promoting adoption.  If you have adopted your child within the last year (birth-18) then you are eligible for a complimentary session.  Every participating photographer gives their time and talent free PLUS you get all your proofs!  Here in Arkansas there are only 3 participating photographers, and I’d love to change that.

Go to the Celebrating Adoption website to find a participating photographer in your area.

Now on with the show.  :)

Little ‘N’ is celebrating his 1st birthday tomorrow, and this session was to celebrate his adoption as well!  He is simply adorable what with those dark eyes and curly hairs!  Adrienne I hope you enjoy this little preview.  ;)

Below is what happens at the end of a session when the kiddos are tired and it’s pushing lunchtime…you get what they naturally do!  :)   I know this is a silly shot, but there is just something about it that I love.  I think it’s just so real.

Til next time,

Mindy

  1. Thanks so much Mindy! I love your work and you did so great with the kids…I on the other hand was a basket case! You are so right, they are just being kids.

Also, I forgot to give you the papers…had them in my bag and everything.

    Talk to you soon,
    A

  2. I really like that last shot, too.

    This organization is amazing.

  3. I love the bottom one. It really catches the personality of your kids.
