Well it turns out every month they have a photo contest for professional photographers and I entered a couple shots. I really have no idea what we win…really it’d just be cool to win. So to all your hip mama’s out there…and other photog’s go check it out. Oh, and don’t forget to vote for us!
Our family had a really good weekend. It was one of those weekends where you get some home improvement projects done and eat ice cream in the front yard. (and itch like crazy from all the chiggers!)
We ended our weekend with some slip-n-slide and water buckets…you know, the kind of play our kids used to do before DS and Wii were invented! Don’t get me wrong, I love the Wii (Wii fit to be exact), but really…kids need to get outside more don’t ya think?
Just as the sun was going down I snapped a few quick shots of my daughter (gotta love that sunflare!), but her big brother had some vicious ideas to get her! I got it all, and then she got him too! Just so you can see how my kids really behave I put together this little slideshow, ENJOY!
Well, today I finally gave in, and took my ‘baby’ to get his haircut…for the First time! I have been dreading cutting it for two reasons. One being the idea of him looking older, and the other not knowing if he would be one of those that screams and cries. To my delight he was just a dream! He sat in his seat, sucking on his lollipop just as content as could be. Of course his mother just jumped around taking pictures, I mean what else would I have done?
When we pulled in the driveway he was asleep. My little guy looked so sweet, and I thought to myself that this could be one of my last chances that he looks like a baby asleep. I pulled out my camera and started taking pictures of all my favorite things, his eyelashes, puckered up lips, toes, etc. The last two pictures were taken in his car-seat just to prove a great picture can happen anywhere!
Her he is with Miss. Trudi, our fabulous hairstylist. You can find her at Illusions in Bentonville!

Got your attention? Well, I never have a whole lot to say when I blog, but that’s okay because it’s a picture blog right?! I am a realist, and I know you only come to see the pictures. Ha!
Let me start this story off by giving you a little background about yesterday. I woke up with the worst sore throat, and as the day progressed it just got worse. After many doses of sudafed, and a ton of water I decided to sleep on the couch. My poor husband who seemed to be my gopher yesterday crashed next to me, and we both slept on the couch all night. You know when your throat is aching, and the only relief you get is to constantly drink? Well that was me, so you can imagine how many times I had to get up last night! The last time I got up was about 1 a.m., which leads up to this blog title.
As I was settling into my ‘bed’ again at 1 a.m. the doorbell suddenly rang. Of course my mind immediatley goes to the most horrifying possiblilities. My husband tells me to stay down, and he goes to check it out. So as i’m lying on the couch just waiting for the worst I hear my husband talking to a man. He seemed to be okay, so I go over to see who it is. That’s when I see 4 police cars in front of my house with all their lights flashing. The officer at the door (who saw me in all my glory, ha!) explained to us that a woman who had stolen someone’s car was found hiding in our truck!!! Apparently she ditched the stolen car and hopped into the truck when the K-9 unit found her. Well, the joke was on her because my husband’s 15 year old truck stopped working a while ago, and we didn’t fix it. (it’s a gas hog)
After they left I couldn’t help but think that if the police officer didn’t come to our door, we never would have known what was going on! I mean, to think that there were policemen and their dog chasing down this women in our driveway and we were out cold on the couch!
I think i’ll be taking a nap later today, I mean I don’t think either of us slept much after that last night!
