Taking on the impossible

I have a confession to make.  I can’t photograph my own children…together….as in all together in the same frame.  This should be an easy task right?  Surely the photographers children would be pros at having their pictures taken right?  Wrong!  Individually they are a dream to work with.  Five minutes and that’s it, but put them all together, and then throw in their cousin and I about pull my hair out.  I haven’t quite figured out what the problem is.  Maybe asking them to be anywhere within touching distance is just too much to ask?  Who knows.  For some reason (maybe I’m punishing myself) I decided to give it a go again!  This time we went to a park so that the play equipment might distract them…it was…interesting.  :)

p.s.  I am technically still on vacation and will be through Thursday.  If you have sent me an email in the last day or so please know that I will respond.  I am trying to get caught up on all my emails and phone calls, etc.

These next few are of my niece.  She is beautiful (as is every girl), and should know it!

Being Yourself

This session is the epitomy of what I love.  Family being themselves and doing what you normally do together.  (ok, so they don’t normally put their piano outdoors…)

When Mark told me he wanted to bring his music outside I was thrilled!  Seriously, it doesn’t get more fun for a photographer.  :)

What else can I say?  These pictures say it all.  Oh yeah, and if you’d like to HEAR how well they sing you can see them perform every Sunday at FBC Rogers.  :)

Til next time,

Mindy

On the home stretch

One of the best things about my job (besides being my own boss) is getting to meet new people.  I just love getting to know families and chatting.  I’ve been known to talk so much I have to remind myself to shoot my camera!  :)

Mom & Dad are expecting their first baby, and they have decided to let their baby’s sex be a surprise!  I could never do that because I need to know everything!

Melissa I enjoyed our session and can’t wait to meet your little surprise.  Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek from this evening.

Sunflare & Humor

Our family had a really good weekend.  It was one of those weekends where you get some home improvement projects done and eat ice cream in the front yard. (and itch like crazy from all the chiggers!)

We ended our weekend with some slip-n-slide and water buckets…you know, the kind of play our kids used to do before DS and Wii were invented!  Don’t get me wrong, I love the Wii (Wii fit to be exact), but really…kids need to get outside more don’t ya think?  :)

Just as the sun was going down I snapped a few quick shots of my daughter (gotta love that sunflare!), but her big brother had some vicious ideas to get her!  I got it all, and then she got him too!  Just so you can see how my kids really behave I put together this little slideshow, ENJOY!  :)

Ahh sunflare.

A little bit of us

We took off to Branson with our close friends this holiday weekend and had some fun.  We had 6 children (8 yrs. old being the oldest) between the 4 adults, so needless to say we were outnumbered!  :)

We ran into rain, but for the most part it was nice…not too hot or cold.  These kids are so much braver than I was at their age with some of the rides we were able to talk them into.  LOL!

pblog1

We went to The Landing for dinner and a waterworks (with cool fire. :) ) show Saturday night.  There were these kids that could’nt have been older than 18 playing drums with buckets.  They were really good too!

pblog2

This was our view from dinner.

pblog3

pblog4

Abby was totally outnumbered, but she handled it so well.  :)

pblog5

I told you it was a cool show.  ;)

pblog6

We made the men take them on this ride because we didn’t feel like getting wet.  After seeing how wet they got i’m really glad we didn’t go!

pblog7

The giant barn swing.  I can NOT believe my son got on this.  It swings you just over a 90 degree angle…pretty awesome.

pblog8

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Now get back to work!  ;)

  1. Nicole:

Wow, what an awesome weekend! I love the one of the four kids and the expressions on their faces! Fantastic. Glad that I found you via Twitter! :)
