{Blog Love} | experiment 1

So all I hear about lately is how social and viral marketing are the wave of the future.  I don’t know, but I do know that most of us don’t go a day without checking our facebook accounts.  Is social marketing all it’s cracked up to be or is it just hype?  Maybe just a phase?  I say we test this theory with a little experiment.

How many of you have a personal blog?  A website?  Don’t raise your hand, it’s not like I can actually see you.  :)  If you are a past or current client you already know that every time you send a new client my way you’ve earned a $25 credit.  So here is the experiment part.  Listen up because if this works it’s going to make some of you very happy!

If you put a link to my site up on your blog or website you will earn a $35 credit for every referral that comes from you.  So let me break it down like this:

  • client must complete session before credit is given to you
  • 6 referrals that come as a result of your link will earn you a free session plus the credit you’ve earned.
  • 12 referrals gives you a free session, 10×10 album plus the credits you’ve earned.
  • link on your site must be a static link.  It can’t be a link in one post.

What is a referral?  A referral is when a new client books, completes and orders from their session.

Let’s see if all this hype is real.  It’s going to be interesting as so many people have blogs anymore.  If you add a link let me know where it’s at and make sure you let all your blogger friends know about this! (or you could not tell them and earn all the session credits for yourself!)  :)

Happy Blogging!

On a different note.  I will be launching a brand new site hopefully (fingers crossed) in the next couple of weeks.  It’s going to look very different so don’t think you went to the wrong site!  :)

I will be doing the Single Parent Contest again this year.  Keep your eyes open for information on that towards the end of February and start thinking of some deserving single mom’s and dad’s.

My 2009 Favorite Images

So I did this last year and really enjoyed it.  Ideally this post would have been up right after the new year, but I just haven’t had the time.  I’ve picked my favorite 8 images for you to vote on.

Rules:

  • Only 1 vote per IP address.  And Yes, I can tell. (if you have a lot of friends voting from work that happen to run off of one IP address and they have trouble just shoot me an email.  I’ll make sure their vote counts.)
  • Repeat rule #1.  :)
  • Contest runs from right NOW til midnight on the 24th.

Remember to tell everyone you know to vote.  You can use email, facebook, twitter, personal blogs and even the telephone to get your message out.  The image with the most votes wins.  The winner will get a $200 credit on their next session so let the voting begin!

Thank you to all of my clients.  It is because of you and your loyalty that I get to do what I love.  May you have a very blessed year in 2010!

    Happy New Year!!!!

Little Miss….

A feisty baby girl entered the world at 8 pounds, 5 ounces just 9 days ago.  Little ‘C’ sure is cute and has the most beautiful olive skin!  I say feisty because if she didn’t like what you were doing with her she sure let you know!  :)

I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas.  No matter where you are or what your circumstances are this year remember this…if you are reading this it’s because you have Internet.  If you have Internet you are very blessed in this world.  As you do your last minute shopping maybe you should check out an Angel Tree and see if some child needs something this year.  God Bless and I’ll see you next year!

A very Princess party

I wish they threw birthday parties like this when I was 3!  This birthday girl was having a very good time at her party and was very attentive to her guests.  :)

Angela at Gala Girlies is responsible for all the decorating, set-up, clean-up, etc..  She does a great job, so if your looking to actually enjoy your child’s party instead of working it give her a call!  I thoroughly enjoyed photographing this birthday!  I am available for parties, but only through Gala Girlies.

    Nice art work Mindy!

Tiny peanut

This sweet little guy decided to surprise his mommy and daddy by coming almost 3 weeks early at just over 5 lbs.!  I love the little bald babies because they look like little old men, but cuter.  :)  I’ve been told that newborn boys are usually easier then the girls, but I’m hear to tell you that it’s just not true!  Oh, ‘L’ was sweet, quiet and cuddly, but really liked to stay awake.  It took a little bit more time, but the adults won.  :)  Check out this sweet pea.

*if your pregnant and want newborn pictures please don’t wait til after your baby is born!  Call during your last trimester.  Newborns are photographed between 5-10 days old.*

Baby ‘M’

This cuties’ parents signed up to be one of my newborn models and today was the big day.  At just 6 days old she was so well behaved!  Not a peep out of her [other than the occasional mouse-like squeak]!  This peanut let me do anything I wanted to.  I was in heaven.  :)

Thanksgiving | part 2

Of course we had to do a fast [very fast due to freezing temps] photo shoot.  I’m lucky I got what I did with my parents.  The whole time complaining that they were cold…bah!  I said ‘come on pops I take kids outside in the snow and they love it…what’s wrong with ya?!’  I’m such a lovely daughter don’t you think?  :)

I’ve got more pictures than usual so bare with me.

Thanksgiving | part 1

Really right now I want to run into my living room, cuddle up on the couch and watch Dexter [which I had to TIVO], but instead I’m putting up this blog.  Why?  Because I’ve been home less than 24 hours and my mother is already asking for pictures to see.  :)

Going home [to PA] has a strange feeling to it for me.  I love getting to see my family and for my kids to spend quality time with them, but as the years go on my hometown [ironically actually named Hometown] seems more like a distant memory.  I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, but I guess it’s just the natural progression of life.

So many of our friends have family relatively close by, but for us it’s more like 18 hours in the car [if we don't stop to pee].  :)  So, when we visit or when they come here a Thanksgiving day is more like a Thanksgiving week for us.  I’m so bad about not pulling my camera out and getting those snapshots.  I know!  What’s wrong with me?!  I guess it’s just so nice to sit back and enjoy the moments that I forget to shoot them.  This visit I forced myself to do it…and I’m glad I did.  [although my dad and youngest brother seemed to escape most of the shots...shame on you both!]

Ben got a BMX trick bike for his 9th birthday just the week before so of course we had to take it with us.  AND before anyone gets all freaked out…yes that is my 2 year old on the trick bike…no he was barely moving and I was right there outside the frame.  :)

This shot of Sophie the cat is especially for my dad, who is having a difficult time with what the groomers did to ‘his cat’.  Sophie the Persian is now Sophie the lioness.  hahaha!  Don’t worry dad I’m sure it will grow back…eventually.  ;)

My husband took this shot [hence the glass glare...okay I'll stop teasing him].  This is Betty.  She is 96?  This lady has known me since I was born…and still likes me!  :)

thanksblog6

Hope your happy mother.  I’ll have part 2 up tomorrow…I’m going to watch some tivo before bed.  :)

xoxo
